Winemaker Alison Rodriguez loves to cook, and as a Louisiana native, understands the art of balancing flavors. “I believe in dynamism in my wines; riding the cusp of the right moment to achieve pure succulence.” She points out that the soils on Miller Ranch are Yolo Clay and Clear Lake Clay, well-drained and deep, which coax the aromatics out of white wines. Succulence has a home here, with beautiful weight (4% Semillon helps with that). Acidity is vivid, with pineapple and its pie crust, thyme, and mineral undertones. “It’s a testament to the estate-grown ethos at Silverado that Sauvignon Blanc can grow so exceptionally well when its absolutely surrounded with Cabernet Sauvignon.
