Honor Women's History Month by recognizing the contributions of prominent women in the alcohol industry!
From the Brand: "From the moment we first brewed beer way back in 2011, Golden Road has taken inspiration from the 400 different neighborhoods and 224 different languages spoken by the 4 million people in our hometown of Los Angeles, one of the most creative places in the world.
When it came time for our founder, Meg Gill, one of the few female founders in US craft brewing, to seek inspiration for amazing craft beers, what better place to begin. Brewed with soul and enjoyed with love, Golden Road prepares and pours not just fresher, more exciting beers, but is at heart a community craft brewery dedicated to always giving back to the place where it all started."
From the Brand: "At Cupcake Vineyards, we blend world-class winemaking with joy. Our journey takes us from the sun-kissed hills of California to the lush valleys of New Zealand and the storied vineyards of Italy, where we grow the finest grapes. At the heart of our winemaking process is our incredibly talented winemaker, Jessica Tomei. With her expert palate and creative spirit, Jessica crafts each Cupcake Vineyards wine to be a perfect expression of its origins."
The McBride Sisters story is one like no other. One could say that their path to sisterhood and ultimately changing the face of the wine industry was destiny at work. Sisters Robin McBride and Andréa McBride John were raised across the globe from one another in two of the world's most iconic wine growing, agriculture and farming regions — Monterey, California and Aotearoa New Zealand. Each thought they were only children until fate united them in 1999 and their discovery of one another, along with a shared love affair with wine, food and culture, sparked a creative and entrepreneurial force.
From the Brand: "Stacey Vogel is your typical “gal from North Carolina travels abroad, falls in love with wine, moves to California to follow a dream, and becomes an award-winning California winemaker” story. A winemaker since 2004, Stacy also completed her MBA in 2015.
When Mount Gay's Master Distiller Truidann Branker was asked "What would you tell a female who is hoping to create a similar path as you?" she responded "I strongly encourage any women who want to work in distillation or blending to embrace their STEM education. Although ‘rum making’ sounds like a fun career, which of course it is, it also takes a lot of formal education and understanding of chemistry."
